PROJECT MANAGEMENT
THE TYPICAL SUNKOSI PROJECT MANAGEMENT METHODOLOGY

Every project is unique in its own way and the Sunkosi way is to be agile in approach and in execution. We will always work with the needs of you, your team, your stakeholders and your industry. In general however, our approach is to follow the tenants of the Agile Manifesto, namely:

We are uncovering better ways of developing product by doing it and helping others do it.
Through this work we have come to value:

                1.  Individuals and interactions over processes and tools
                2.  Working software over perfect documentation
                3.  Customer collaboration over ceaseless contract negotiation
                4.  Responding to change over simply following a plan

THE SUNKOSI SYSTEM DEVELOPMENT LIFE CYCLE (SDLC) FAV-MODEL

Sunkosi Project Managers and Consultants have evolved a highly optimized and unique System Development Life Cycle (SDLC) model that is a hybrid model that combines the best of both traditional and modern project management techniques. The Sunkosi SDLC combines the clarity and structure of CMMI compliant traditional waterfall models, the verification and validation of the V-model, and the efficiency and adaptability of modern agile iterative techniques. This hybrid SDLC model gives both structure and adaptability to system development all the way from the opening of an opportunity to the capturing of the project metrics. This Sunkosi hybrid SDLC model is the Forster Agile V-Model or FAV Model. The FAV-Model is summarized in the following diagram.

This diagram shows a V shaped SDLC end-to-end project management methodology model in which over time, project abstraction moves from high abstraction architecture to low abstraction implementation back to high abstraction project acceptance. Note how each stage of a project should have a complementary verification or validation stage. The symmetry in the Sunkosi FAV-Model underlines the fact that Sunkosi believes that you can't say that a feature or user story has been implemented until you have confirmed that it has been implemented. Furthermore, unlike the traditional waterfall or V-Model project methodologies, the FAV-Model explicitly includes the reality of iterative change. Iterative change captures the heart of the agile methodology. That is, any project plan must be nimble enough to change and adapt as we gather new information during the implementation process.
